Icarus & Co. Tahitian Summer 2013

Hello friends,

Last weekend we had an amazingly relaxing shoot
at Far Rockaway beach.
Nothing is better than hopping on a subway to go meet some
pals and emerging onto a stress free sea shore.
I like to exit on 67th street, less riff raff, more guacamole chips.
I packed some coconut waters and snax, a few supplies.
and shot the local surfers, trying to capture
the spirit of this thrown together collection.
Grass roots. To the max.

What's different about this collection is the fact that it is so raw.
We hardly used any silver, making it definitely more affordable.
Let's all take a minute to reflect on these rock bottom prices.
Celebrating the natural beauty of South Sea and Tahitian pearls
we deconstructed the idea of pearl jewelry
into something all you cool kids and surf heads can wear.

SO PLEASE BUY SOME.
We are leaving for Africa and are destitute.
ALMS FOR THE POOR!

Old Irresponsible souls.

There are some people on this earth that were born for consistency.
As I see the last entry on this blog... dating back to February.. A SHAME ON ALL YOUR HOUSES!
My friend just graduated from Columbia graduate school and I confessed that even though
I graduated college... and grad school many moons ago.
I still suffer from PTSD and the fear of thinking that I may have missed a credit somewhere.
Sometimes (All the time) I dream that I forgot about this one statistic class and for some reason I can't remember if it meets on Mondays/Wednesdays or does it drop on Friday???
Then I wake up and I have to go to work.
And you have just listened to a dream you really care about, right?

The point is. There are responsible souls, and there are young souls.
I just hope one day I can be an old, irresponsible soul with many friends.
As opposed to a POOR UNFORTUNATE SOUL.

But seriously...

No Rhyme. No Raison de'tat

Just some images that I like.
I am preparing for a trip to
Eleuthra, Bahamas for a 5 day shoot.
Maybe I will come back with a little color
and a little life.

and since I don't post many R&B tunages on this blog
and it made up a lot of my musical edifice growing up.
here is some sort of newish rhythm and blues.

ughhh. America where the ads load fast
and the music loads slow.
And in answer to your question Miguel
I do.

Pin-Up Inspiration

I am having a kitchy pin-up moment.  Inspiration for the next collection.

Bettie Page, the "Queen of Pinups", is the epitome of sexy.
Former model, Bunny Yeager, made her mark as a pin-up photographer.

Images I like according to the iPad pequeno.

I just bought myself an iPad mini.
This tiny piece of machinery is amazing. I accidentally got myself addicted to the television shows
The Walking Dead,  AND Breaking Bad
trolled around Amazon.com and lost some major hours of my life, purchased reams of Indian and Thai paper, and have missed several morning jogs because of it...
So maybe it isn't so amazing after all. BUT the ability to consume images and store and post and consume, consume, consume is pretty cool.
Here are some pictures that I really like.

Art Party

If you didn't happen to attend the Icarus and Co. Art + Relaxation Party the other weekend, you definitely missed out.  Not only did we create some beautiful art, but we strengthened friendships while treating Club Asia like the antique-filled adult apartment that it is.

Never fear, this was the first but definitely not the last Art Party!
